As we head into a new year, changes are afoot, including on the pages of the Worcester Sun. Now, we’ve been nipping and tucking, and hopefully improving all along; we’re just saying you can expect more. Like today, for instance, in Worcester Weekly.

In an effort to make this feature more accessible, more useful, maybe even more fun, we’ll highlight one top event each week and take a longer look at it, including as we grow more sophisticated, using additional photos, video, other media, and further links to helpful or interesting information.

Wednesday, Jan. 6 — Holy Cross men’s basketball vs. Colgate, 7 p.m., Hart Center, College of the Holy Cross, 1 College St. Don’t look now, but the Crusaders (6-6) had fashioned a sharp, three-game win streak heading into Saturday’s tilt at Navy. On the eve of New Year’s Eve, a decisive second-half performance spurred by standout forward Malachi Alexander led HC to its first Patriot League-opening win, this over BU, in four seasons.
